Youth Soccer
Whether it’s gaining the confidence that comes from learning a new skill or building the positive relationships that lead to good sportsmanship and teamwork, participating in soccer at the Y is about building the whole individual, combining team play and individual skills. Programming starts at age 3 through 12. Activities include leagues and instructional programs for youth.
All ability levels are welcome.
A $5.00 non-refundable fee will be applied to any program canceled by the participant
SPRING 1st & 2nd Grade Boys Developmental Soccer League
*All registrations made after 3/15 will have to be made over the phone, or in person at either Y branch.

We have a 1st and 2nd-grade league and a 3rd and 4th-grade league. Beginners and experienced players are welcome. Practices are once a week with games on Saturday mornings.
Age: Current 1st & 2nd Grade Boys (grade in 2023-2024 school year)
Directions for Registration: It is important to select THREE DIFFERENT practice options. Failing to do so could result in an incomplete registration and not being placed on a team. Once certain practice times fill, they may be removed as options.
Practice Info: Practices begin the week of April 1st
Practice Locations: Available at the Houser Y in Onalaska, and Hintgen Elementary School Fields in La Crosse
Game Dates: April 13th, 20th, 27th, May 4th, 11th, & 18th
*All games will be played at the Onalaska YMCA fields.
What to wear: Clothes to be active in. Cleats and shin guards are not required but are up to the parent’s discretion.
*Team placement is determined by the date of registration, and the number of players. YMCA league directors reserve the right to place players in different practice times in order to enhance the overall quality of the league.
*Team Placement Emails will be sent out on Friday, March 22nd. If you do not receive a team placement email by then, please reach out to [email protected].

Description: Introduce your 4, 5, & 6-year-olds to the fundamentals of soccer! Staff will focus on introducing the fundamentals of the game through station work while teaching teamwork and good sportsmanship. Our goals for this program are to have fun, learn character through sport, and increase soccer skills.
