Dance Progressive Levels (6-18 years)
Dance at the Y is an opportunity to explore the joy of movement and expression in an encouraging environment! Our dedicated instructors will guide students through classes that build a solid foundation of technique, performance skills, and self-confidence.
We offer a variety of styles for dancers of all abilities, ages 3 through adult. Students must meet minimum age requirements in the first week of class.
Most students have the opportunity to participate in the Holiday Dance Recital and Spring Student Performance, with some non-recital classes being available as well. There are opportunities for the committed dancer to participate in our performance groups: Allegro All-Stars, Y We Dance Ensemble, and Encore Performance Group. Auditions for these groups are held annually.
Recital Fee (Fall & Winter Sessions Only): All recital classes will have a one-time non-refundable fee that includes a costume for the recital, costume accessories, and a digital copy of all performances.
A $5.00 non-refundable fee will be applied to any program canceled by the participant.

Private lessons are a great opportunity for one-on-one attention for your dancer to continue to grow and learn. Private lessons allow for dancers to work on specific skills they need additional practice with or those that they prefer!

VIP Dance - Onalaska
AGE: 6+ YEARS OLD WITH ADULT OF THE SAME FAMILY / HOUSEHOLD
DURATION: 30-MINUTES, 6 WEEKS
Only one registration is needed for the student and participating adult. Please register under the student’s name (adult does not need to register separately).
Formerly known as Dads & Daughters, this special dance is created each year for the YMCA Spring Dance Recital. Y Dance Students can partner up with their “VIP” adult to have fun, make new friends, and build lifelong memories. Two age groups rehearse separately for the first three weeks and then together as a large group for the remaining practices. The dancer must be enrolled in a Y Dance program and attendance at all rehearsals is required.
NOTE: All ages meet as a large group starting April 14 at 12:20-1:05 pm for the last 3 weeks of the session.
*No class on Easter – Sunday, March 31.

WINTER Ballet 1/2 - Onalaska
This class is designed for all Level 1 and Level 2 ballet students.
AGE: 9-12 YEARS OLD

Learn the elements of classical ballet technique! Students in the level will learn fun and challenging combinations of skills while sharpening their focus and stamina. An emphasis is placed on strength, flexibility, and coordination.

A great way to get moving! This class is an introduction to hip-hop dance for kids. An emphasis is placed on improving rhythm, musicality, and footwork through fun combinations & games. Over the course of the session, dancers will be learning foundational skills/vocabulary and showing off their moves in high-energy routines.
